“You must try Peppers” they said. “Its fabulous!” So try it I did. Arriving hot and discombobulated after a baby Gojek driver from Flores took me all over south Bali, I was in serious need of soothing.
Even though I was late for my appointment, they handled me with gracious aplomb and led me into a pleasingly cool room. I was more than ready for my Frangipani Bliss session. The treatment starts with a Balinese derived massage and the long firm strokes from my lovely therapist just brought bliss back to my being. Slowly all the traffic irritations dissolved into a sea of relaxation and good feelings!
Peppers Spa uses quality products. Elemis for the facials and massage products are used for the spa treatments and the excellent locally produced Sensatia products are used for the bathroom. The only thing that puzzled me was that they use Sensatia’s rather workmanlike “Seaside Citrus” for bathing products rather than one of their gorgeous experience enhancing fragrant products like “Cleopatra’s Rose”. A spa should engage the senses as much as possible for total bliss.
After the truly relaxing massage using the luscious Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Oil (from Tahiti) drizzled warmly onto the body, it was followed by an Elemis Lime and Ginger Salt Glow body scrub and a mild exfoliation. All just delicious!
Then it was time for a wrap. More warm oil was drizzled onto my body as I lay on a piece of shiny new, silvery material – as visually pleasing as it was effective. All wrapped up while the wrap took effect, it was time for a mini facial using more luxurious Elemis products. At just under two hours, I emerged from my comfortable cocoon-like existence, to be ready for the world again, although a little refreshing sleep would have been most welcomed.
As well as massage and spa treatments, Peppers Spa also offer mani/pedi specials which are almost mandatory in southern Bali where everyone looks so well shod. It was all deliciously relaxing and renewing and that night I slept like an untroubled baby.
