Customers can choose from 6 different flavours of yogurt: Plain, Chocolate, Banana, Mixed Berries, Mango and Butter Cookie. What’s different about Yogurt Republic is the ability to self-serve, pouring as much or as little as they want into their cups. Then comes the line of toppings, from the healthy and fresh to the guilty pleasures… Finally customers will weigh their cups to pay, a fair and fun way to get your fill of froyo.
Yogurt Republic comes from a joint partnership with MMB (Mentor Micro Bank), founded by Alan Morgan. MMB is a non-profit organisation that educates poorer communities with personal and business money management and general business skills through its Prosperity Program.
The first to receive this program is Lukman Hakim, aka Lucky, who after graduating the program was given a grant from MMB to begin the first Yogurt Republic franchise. From a DVD salesman on the beaches of Bali, Lucky, through the MMB program, has now become part owner and operator of Yogurt Republic. He knows has an opportunity to better to his life financially, improving the life of his family as well. MMB aims to continue this success with others from impoverished backgrounds.
