On 15 and 16 November 2024, The Apurva Kempinski Bali will conclude their year-long campaign ‘Celebration of Culinary Arts’ by hosting guest chef, Lucas Dumarski, Head Pastry Chef of the Two Michelin-star Mezzaluna, Bangkok. Guests can experience his fabulous sweet creations over this culinary-focused weekend supported by Valrhona.

Mezzaluna serves innovative French cuisine with a Japanese flair, defined by the philosophy of Executive Chef Ryuki Kawasaki. As Head Pastry Chef, Lucas Dumarski is given full reign to explore his culinary creativity, owing to his impressive background working in other Michelin-starred establishments prior to working in Bangkok. From Two Michelin-starred restaurants Pierre Gagnaire Tokyo, L’Auberge des Glazicks by Olivier Bellin, and L’Auberge de Collonges by Paul Bocuse.

Chef Lucas thus brings his highly-reputed expertise to Bali on 15 and 16 November, preparing signature desserts and sweet delights exclusively for The Apurva Kempinski Bali.

At the resort’s Selasar Deli, Chef Lucas’ pastry creations will be the highlight of the daily Selasar Artisanal Afternoon Tea, alongside delicacies crafted by the resort’s Executive Pastry & Bakery Chef Rizqi and Head of Pastry Chef Iqbal. This will be available on both 15 and 16 November 2024.

Then, the grand finale. On Saturday, 16 November 2024, Chef Lucas heads to Koral Restaurant to join Chef Jean-Baptiste Natali, Koral’s Executive Chef, and Pastry Sous Chef, Ida bagus Gede Sujati Arsa. Together they will serve a curated six-course collaborative menu, supported by Valrhona.

This weekend will close the ‘Celebration of Culinary Arts’ 2024, a year-long program with the objective of bringing international culinary stars to Bali and creating extraordinary dining experiences, whilst simultaneously create an exchange of knowledge and skills with the resort’s own talented chefs.

Since they began in February 2024, The Apurva Kempinski Bali has hosted a whole roster of Michelin-star background chefs and Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) awardees. Some examples include Chef Romuald Fassenet (MOF Cuisine – 2004 and One Michelin-starred), Chef Thierry Drapeau (Two Michelin-starred), Chef Mitsuru Konishi (One Michelin-starred), to name a new. This November weekend will conclude this year’s program, before starting again with new star chefs in 2025.
