Urs Klee, General Manager of the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and one of Bali’s most influential GMs, has represented the island in a truly impressive feat. Hailing from Switzerland, and thus well-adjusted to mountain life, Mr. Klee has always been a lover of outdoor sports. Having battled Papua’s Puncak Jaya (also known as Carstensz Pyramid) 18 years ago, he dreamt of tackling the ‘7 Summits’ – the tallest mountains of each continent.
It was this dream that led him to his adventures in Africa, to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2015 with some members of the Rotary Club Nusa Dua and SKAL Bali. Taking the Machane Route to Uhuru Peak (Stella Point), their challenging trek finished at 5,895m above sea level. Whilst this trip was indeed a personal ambition, Urs and the other members managed to raise money for charity for the Rotary Club as well. Congratulations to all those who participated in this impressive, fund raising adventure.
