Want to see more of Indonesia? Join David Metcalf’s journey to the Isen Mulang cultural festival in Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). The enchanting diversity of ethnicities and unique cultures in the Central Kalimantan Province are annually showcased in this special event.
This year, the event will again take place on May 18th to 23rd at its capital city, Palangkaraya. The main highlight of the festival will be visiting Orangutans, but there are also more fascinating attractions that include spectacular dragon boat races, Dayak tribe dancing, Dayak blowpipes, and traditional music performances. Don’t forget to bring English/Bahasa children’s books to support the community village project “Ransel Buku” in Katimpun Village.
