THE MACALLAN MASTER SERIES DINNER AT KAYUPUTI
Whisky and cigar aficionados will be excited to hear that The St. Regis Bali Resort is set to host its first ever Single Malt pairing dinner at its award-winning Kayuputi Restaurant this coming March 18 at 7pm. Featured at the evening event are the distinguished Macallan single malt and one of the finest Cuban cigars, Cohiba. Founded in 1824 in the heart of Speyside, The Macallan was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to be legally licensed.
Cohiba, Fidel Castro’s preferred brand, was created in 1966 as Havana’s premier brand for diplomatic purposes. Flawlessly handcrafted in Cuba, Cohiba boasts a Cameroon wrapper, a Jember binder, and a blend featuring three varieties of Cuban seed tobaccos. Executive Chef Agung Gede has prepared a superb degustation menu featuring Kiwami Wagyu beef strip loin to Valrhona bitter chocolate-raisin soufflé – the five-course menu has been thoughtfully crafted to match five distinctive Macallan single malts. The exclusive evening will continue at the King Cole Bar, with every guest receiving a Cohiba cigar and a glass of Macallan to savour while relaxing in the sophisticated ambience of a live jazz band performance featuring the multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Rougerie.

AN EVENING WITH IVAN & LUKE AT THE RESTAURANT
For one exclusive night, on March 19, The Legian Bali’s The Restaurant will welcome Ivan Brehm, Head Chef of acclaimed Singapore restaurant Bacchanalia, to cook a “four-hand” dinner with the resort’s Executive Chef Luke Macleod. Sharing a penchant for premium quality ingredients sourced from ethical sources, the two chefs will cook an extravagant dinner of seven courses, plus snacks and pre-dessert; each course matched with a tailored wine.
Ivan’s multi-cultural cooking style that focuses on uncovering hidden flavour combinations to reconsider custom and cultural identity, has earned him a following as one of the most exciting chefs working in Southeast Asia. Such style and spirit is a great match for The Legian’s Luke Macleod, who learned the culture of cooking under the auspices of legendary French chef Alain Senderens, one of the founding fathers of nouvelle cuisine, before moving to Asia. Each course will be teamed with a select wine or Champagne, including Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé and Crozes-Hermitage “La Petite Ruche” Blanc from the Rhone Valley.

INTIMATE WINE DINNER WITH CHEF DEGAN SEPTOADJI
After the successful Intimate Wine Dinner in January, VIN+ is spicing things up by throwing another exclusive wine dinner with the famous and talented Chef Degan Septoadji who will be collaborating with Chef Theodorus Setyo on March 18 (dinner starts at 7pm).
Chef Degan’s vast knowledge of the culinary world has been proven from his experience working at Grand Hyatt Bali, Ritz Carlton Bali, Melia Bali Villa & Spa Resort, Banyan Tree Group, and Atlantis Royal Towers in the Bahamas. He has also participated in the world famous television competitive cooking show franchise MasterChef as one of the judges for MasterChef Indonesia. His magnificent dishes will be paired with prestigious wines from all around the world.
