True to its name, last month an art exhibition officially soft-opened the art-inspired, design hotel group known as ARTOTEL, as they land in Bali for the first time along the peaceful streets of Sanur.
ARTOTEL Sanur’s design focuses heavily on contemporary styles, but often with traditional influences; local inspiration, such as Sanur’s annual kite festival, were very much a part of the look and feel of this new property. Murals line the walls and an eclectic urban space is created within this new hotel. It certainly adds a new dimension to the typically family-oriented Sanur, as ARTOTEL beckons a younger generation to enjoy the spoils of the tranquil fishing village. The property houses 89, art-infused rooms, but more importantly is home to many of Sanur’s ‘firsts’ such as the first rooftop bar, BART; first 24-hour restaurant, ROCA and also rooftop infinity pool. As can be expected, ARTOTEL has its very own ARTSPACE, where currently “The Tres_Pass” Exhibition is being displayed, featuring works from young, local artists. The exhibition remains open until 1 September, 2016.
