Bali has earned itself a long string of appellations, including the “Morning of the World,” “Island of the Gods” and the “Last Paradise on Earth”. The island’s lush landscape, the colourful Balinese Hindu festivals and the friendliness of the people lure vacationers here again and again. Indeed, Bali is a favourite destination for many from around the globe. Perhaps that’s the reason it has been ranked the number one island in Asia and in the top five of the world’s best islands for at least three years now.

Having lived in Bali for years, encountered countless cultural festivities and visited secret corners on the island, our editors and writers will list down their favourite places (not necessarily mainstream tourist sites), favourite activities, favourite restaurants, favourite spas, and more in the December issue of NOW! Bali. You will be taken to places and tempted to enjoy the ‘real’ Bali as well as the island’s finest, modern establishments – all aimed at getting you to experience the uniqueness of Bali as the world’s favourite.

You will know that you’re in paradise when the sensuous sandalwood smoke curls itself upward to mingle with your breath, when the happy, friendly people genuinely welcome you, and the colourful ceremonies and flowers are everywhere for your eyes to feast on. For those of you who have not yet had the pleasure of enjoying the best Bali has to offer, we would like to introduce some of our favourite aspects of the island.
