A new contemporary Italian restaurant has recently opened on Seminyak’s popular Petitenget Street, Mauri Restaurant brings the tastes and flavours of its Chef’s hometown to the island.
After four successful years heading Il Ristorante at Bulgari Resort Bali and another four overlooking the award-winning dining venues at Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud, Chef Maurizio decided it was time to fully express his culinary style.
And so the acclaimed Italian chef recently opened MAURI restaurant, a highly anticipated dining venue that allows patrons to have a contemporary Italian dining experience.
Together with a fellow Italian restaurateur, Luigi from La Fabric in Canggu, Chef Maurizio presents his offerings that showcase his approach of keeping the integrity of ingredients as pure and authentic as possible in a contemporary setting that exudes the warmth of Pugliese, an Italian region where the chef hails from.
Aiming to use homemade items from its hydroponic garden on the rooftop as much as possible and by selecting the highest quality of local products in collaboration with Balinese farmers, MAURI offers a conscious cuisine that respects the ingredients seasonality and its origins.
Open for dinner only (at time of writing), it offers an a la carte menu along a seasonal tasting menu. The restaurant accommodates up to 40 seats on the ground floor facing the live kitchen with an intimate 5 seats Chef counter for private tastings. A separate bar and lounge, where small bites and cocktails “Aperitivo Style” are served is located on the mezzanine level with an outdoor balcony.
