From Sunday 9 June until Tuesday 9 July, a group of young Balinese artists from Sanggar Dewata Indonesia will hold an exhibition of their various art works about modern day Bali titled “Irony in Paradise” at ARMA Museum, Ubud. Members of the art community are inspired to act out the notion of freedom of expression utilizing modern theories and techniques in art. Key to their latest works in paintings, sculpture, and installations is the rapid urbanization of Bali in the 21st century that the artists witness in their everyday surroundings.
