Denpasar is a place where modern and traditional approaches coexist. When you shop, you have two options: haggle for low-priced goods or pay the full price for higher quality goods. Here, shops selling similar items are often clustered together, which makes negotiating and comparing prices easier.

Theme - Shopping District (Denpasar)

Jalan Sulawesi is a small yet commercial street known for its fabric shops. Here you’ll find rich choices of textiles such as cottons, silks, satins, brocades, and more. The prêt-a-porter clothing is an interesting range here, particularly if you want to try the traditional Balinese dress.

At first glance, the shops on this street appear to be selling the same or similar products, but each shop is in fact unique. It’s a good idea to scour each one so you can compare what’s on offer. Don’t forget to bargain on prices!

Those who don’t have much time can always head to gift stores such as Erlangga and Krisna. Located on Jalan Nusa Kambangan in Denpasar, both stores are popular for their complete Bali souvenir collections. Accessories, batik shirts, beach sarongs, wooden statues and toys, handbags and ethnic sandals are amongst the top items sold in the stores. Erlangga also has quite a selection of traditional snacks.
