Slow paced, bohemian Ubud, brimming with galleries, boutiques, restaurants and culture in general, a growing tourist destination up in the hills and lush green rice paddies of Central Bali; the perfect destination for a brand new eco-friendly Jazz Festival.

On August 9th and 10th this year, up to 100 renowned international and Indonesian Jazz artists will descend on Ubud to take part in the inaugural Ubud Village Jazz Festival.  In the grounds of the glorious Arma museum, a dazzling line up of Jazz artists and bands will perform under the stars, from twilight until late.

Very much a local initiative, the festival is the brainchild of Yuri Mahatma, jazz musician and one of the founders of the Bali Jazz Community and Anom Darsana, of Antida Music Productions.

Set to become one of the leading music festivals in Bali, the line up of expected Jazz artists includes Peter Beets (Netherlands), Uwe Plath, Dian Pratiwi (Germany), Yokohama Association of Artists (Japan), Balawan and many more local musicians.

This quirky new festival will also be flying the eco- friendly flag by by only using LED lighting, home-made torches, bicycles for musicians to ride to and from venues, recycling bins and a no plastic bags policy.  Food stalls will also be available on site offering many of Ubud’s culinary specialties.
