Want to see more of Indonesia? Would you like to attend a local festival with over 150 Dayak tribes from all over Kalimantan, Borneo? This month on the 19th-24th May, a unique event will take place in West Kalimantan. To observe the event, you can join the once a year only spectacular Gawai Festival on a very personalised tour led by David Metcalf, AKA Dayak Dave who has personally invited a troupe of Lakota dancers from Standing Rock, South Dakota and a Maori performance group from New Zealand – VIP seating up for grabs! Festival highlights: street parade with thousands of Dayak warriors, evening performances with gala displays of dancing and traditional music and singing, and a variety of traditional games including blowpipe competitions.
