It’s evening in Ubud and it’s time to go out. We’re looking for somewhere to sit, listen to some music, chill or dance. Where to go? Ubud is not exactly renowned for its night life. A beautiful cultural dance or two, a lecture at Bar Luna or Betelnut perhaps, or a movie at Café Paradiso… But a night out? Hmm…
Ubud’s CP Lounge is the answer. A huge outdoors lounge area with lots of comfortable cushioned seating, with plenty of space for lots of guests. Inside, a lively bar awaits, complete with a wall of mirrors and shiny bottles. A bar is a bar but a cozy bar can be hard to find, especially one with professional looking pool tables, which CP Lounge has. A new one will be coming soon, which means there will be three to choose from.
Live music plays every night from nine until midnight, which is when the DJ starts inside the lounge. It’s really the only place in town; as one reviewer said – it’s the most vibrating place in Ubud! Accolades indeed.
But what is it that makes CP special? It’s not just the great food, but also the drinks: Shooters, shots, and cocktails – CP has it all – and made with genuine brands of course.
Signature specials are the chocolate and espresso martinis – both are definitely worth a try. One of their most intriguing special drinks however is the “rainbow shots – buy 1 get 12”. Out of one pour comes twelve shots, and in a magical array of colours. Red, yellow, blue, green… How they do it, we really don’t know. “It’s a house secret”, says the smiling manager, and they are not divulging!
Not only are their drinks made with premium brands, but the CP Lounge prices are affordable too. It’s like a happy hour all day long, and it’s a long day too. CP opens from 11am, in time for a refreshing pre-lunch drink, or perhaps a quiet morning espresso looking over the rice field views. They stay open until 4am, and there are still guests hanging around in those wee hours of the day.
Food is never a problem. Tapas, snacks, Thai, Italian and Greek inspired dishes are all available until midnight, when the kitchen winds down a little to provide pizzas, tapas and other snacks until 2 am.
CP is also a great party venue and they are happy to arrange for you any kind of party from a birthday, to a wedding. The space is there and the right atmosphere for fun.
No need to be lost for fun in Ubud, CP does it all and for all ages, be it locals, tourists or expats – anyone who enjoys a good night out!
