Elephants graze and browse for food continuously because their body size makes it hard for them to maintain a constant body temperature so they need to generate heat often.

Elephants eat mostly grass, leaves, flowers, wild fruits, bananas, bamboo and various other trees. They use their trunk to rip the grass, leaves or trees, and bring food up to their mouth. The chewing process ruins their tooth enamel, but new teeth grow to push out the worn down teeth. This cycle continues throughout their life.
