Just as we finish celebrating the new year of the Gregorian calendar, yet another new year celebration pops up! On Saturday, 28 January 2017, people around the world will be celebrating the Lunar or Chinese New Year. As Indonesia (and Bali) has strong Chinese histories, you can be sure festivities will take place on the island. This year, Four Points Kuta is offering up a feast to celebrate the Year of the Rooster with their Prosperity Buffet Lunch at The Eatery All Day Dining Restaurant. Eating for Luck at Intercontinental Resort
Intercontinental has a prepared a Yee Sang Prosperity New Year’s Eve Dinner at their Taman Gita Terrace from 7pm onwards, featuring a smorgasbord of food believed to bring luck, health and happiness for the year. Forbidden City Dinner at Ji
How about dining in an authentic 311-year old Kang Xi period temple; hard to have a more authentic Chinese experience here in Bali. Well, in Tugu Bali’s Ji at Bale Sutra 1706 you can be sure any experience will be authentic. You’re invited to dine as an emperor in an extravagant setting of the Forbidden City, featuring a procession of eunuchs in colourful clothes and masks, singing with music.
